Excursions
Pisaq market
On Sunday we will visit the old town of Pisaq were we can attend the local handicraft market. Pisaq is a small ancestral town of artisans who offer a great variety of handcrafted articles. Artisans from different communities in the highland regions come with handmade fabrics. You can appreciate the nearby community leaders dressed up in their typical clothes, with a ceremonial staff "varayoc" which represents their power.
Ruins of Pisaq
Above the old town of Pisaq the Inca ruins are situated at the top of the mountain Intihuatana. The ruins consist of a stone ceremonial complex, from which there is an impressive sight of the sacred valley. The view includes terraces, adoration temples, and a solar clock.
Moray terraces
We will go to the circular terraces of Moray, which were an experimental Inca complex of new crops and special microclimate systems to expand their agricultural and irrigation knowledge.
